Marion
Chloe Lynn, Formerly of Marion, passed away on September 2, 2002 at Porter County Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. She had resided in Indiana for the past 24 years. She had just celebrated her 99th birthday on Saturday, August 31, 2002. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 6, 2002 at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with the Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
Chloe was born in Williamson County, IL on August 31, 1903 the daughter of Thomas and Nannie (Hudgens) Dunn. She married William (Bill) Lynn on September 23, 1920. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1959. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Kenneth and Fern Lynn of St. Clair, MO, Lavern and Marzella Lynn of Tulsa, OK, Berniece (Bea) and Cecil Beasley of Peoria, AZ, Mel and Velma Lynn of Marion, and Dorothy and Jerry Grimes of Valparaiso, IN. She has ten grandchildren, Judy Albert of Alameda, CA, Margaret Harmon of Tulsa, OK, Terry Lynn of Marion, Jeff Grimes of Portsmouth, VA, Marilyn Hale of Washington, MO, Sharon Pollick of St. Louis, MO, Kenny Lynn of N. Carolina, Donna Deatherage of St. Louis, Mo, Greg Lynn of West Frankfort, Dan Lynn of Marion, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Estus, who was in the Navy and died in battle during World War II and three children who died during infancy. Her parents, five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death also.
Chloe was always involved with her family and was an avid gardener of which her family has enjoyed the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed many crafts such as embroidering and crocheting. She appreciated the continuous card and letters that she received from her family and friends.
She was a long time member of the Second Baptist Church in Marion.
