Mabel J. Lezu

Marion- MABEL J. LEZU, age 76, of Marion, passed away at 2:30pm on Friday, September 17, 2010 at her home in Marion. Mabel was born in Herrin on November 23, 1933, the daughter of Clyde and Mamie (Lawson) Donahue. She married Frank J. Lezu in Herrin on June 29, 1951. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1995. Mrs. Lezu was a member of the Ferges United Methodist Church. She retired from Sears, where she worked as the caf manager. Survivors include her son- Rick Lezu of Marion, IL Daughter- Pamela Purdy of Crete, IL Four grandchildren- Holly Harmon of Pittsburg, IL Zachary Lezu of Marion, IL Amanda Purdy of California James Purdy of Chicago, IL Seven Great Grandchildren- Dylan Purdy, Sydney Motsinger, Amber Ryder,Colton Lezu, Hayden Lezu, McKenzie Lawrence and Macey Lawrence Two brothers- Roy and Alice Donahue of Marion, IL Harry and Karen Donahue of Marion, IL Three sisters- Pearl Hickey of St Louis, MO Irene Sherrard of Herrin, IL Lily and Leslie Harvel of Marion, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers- Clyde Bud Donahue, Bob Burt, and George Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Andy Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11am on Monday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
