Marion- Mackie Wayne Richey, 67, of Marion, passed away at 6:15 am, Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, FL.
Mackie was born on June 18, 1941 in Pittsburg, IL to Clifford & Helen (Tanner) Richey. He married Joyce Boester on February 10, 1962 in Marion. She survives of Marion.
Mackie was a US Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He retired as a coal miner. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the United Mine workers of America and the Crab Orchard Boat & Yacht Club.
He attended Cana Baptist Church.

Sister in law- Sharon Stephens & husband Raymond of Crab Orchard
Sister in law- Nancy Hastings & husband Dale of Crab Orchard
Brother in law- Alan Boester & wife Jo of Marion
Aunt- Louise Chase of Pontiac, MI
Cousin- Sandra Lee Dutton & husband Marion of Orion, MI

He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. John Howat will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5-9:00pm, Monday, March 2, 2009 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
