Eloise King

Mae Eloise King, 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 5:03 A.M. surrounded by her family at her home in Marion. Eloise was born April 14, 1923 in Pittsburg the daughter of Herman and Lucy (Allen) Cline.  She married Arlie King on November 30, 1940 in Jackson, Missouri and together they have been blessed with over 72 years of marriage. She was a member of the Marion Third Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.  Eloise was a homemaker and enjoyed doing her own yard work, proudly winning the honor of having the yard of the year for two years straight. Additionally, she cared for the landscaping and flowerbeds at her church, Marion Third Baptist. She was a great cook.  Her family will miss her Sunday and Holiday meals.  Eloise was the most important role model in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren lives.  She always put her family before herself.  We all knew how much she loved us. She is survived by her; Husband – Arlie King of Marion Daughter – Darlene King of Marion Four Grandchildren;   Michelle Borum and husband Kevin of Marion   David Hays and wife Carla of Herrin   Stephanie Fulton and husband Tim of Marion   Scott Thompson and wife Brittany of Marion Great Grandchildren;   Dustin & Andrea Borum   Darrick Borum   Megan Borum   Nicholas Hays   Morgan Metten   Maci Metten   Kyle Fulton   Jake Fulton   Cooper Thompson   Slone Thompson Preceded by her Parents, Son - Arlie “AJ” King, Jr., Daughter-in-law – Mary Alyce King and Sister – Verbal Davis. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Dennis L. Pulley officiating.  Burial will follow in in Egyptian Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
