Johnston City- Marbia Pearl Holderfield, 95, of Johnston City, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 12:15 AM, Monday, April 9, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Marbia was born on September 15, 1911 in Vienna to I.E. & Lillie (Alsip) Simmons. She married Leonard W. Holderfield. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1911.
Marbia formerly worked for Norge Industries for many years before retiring in 1977 from the southern Illinois garment industry.
Mrs. Holderfield was an active member of Herrin First Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her sisters, Marie & Alene.

Son & daughter in law- James R. & Jane Holderfield of St. Charles, IL
Grandson- Gregory Holderfield and wife Carol of Oak Park, IL
Grandson- Curt Holderfield and wife Kim of Chicago
Great Grandchildren- Griffin & Grant Holderfield of Oak Park
Great Grandchildren- Taylor & Drew Holderfield of Chicago
Sister- Alene Butler of Johnston City
Sister- Marie McCluskie of Marion
Many nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eight brothers and sisters, including; Clifford, Holly, Delbert, Jim, Frank, Nellie, Glen & Maryland.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Don Grammer will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
