Marion Marcella L. Prater, 89, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 7:25 P.M. at Parkway Manor. Marcella was born January 28, 1919 the daughter of Andrew & Amalia (Kohler) Gutek. She married Charles Raymond Prater, Sr. on June 19, 1945 in Streator, Illinois and together they shared over 47 years of marriage until his death on September 11, 1992. Marcella was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Womens Guild, and Junior Womens Club (Lunch Bunch). She worked for over 20 years at Shermans Department Store. Survivors include; Son Charles Prater, Jr. of Marion Daughter Pat Wright and husband Mike of Marion Four grandchildren; Jennifer Sauerbrunn and husband Mark of Springfield Kim Wright and Fianc Brian Meade of Newburn, NC Christopher Wright and Fianc Janna Hindman of Carbondale Cameron Wright and wife Elissa of Marion Three great grandchildren; Braxton, Devyn and Bria Wright of Marion Three sister-in-laws; Mary Prater of Pana Alice Murray of Pana Betty Prater of Pana Two nephews; Wally Marion of Evergreen Park Charles Marion of Tucson, AZ Niece Mary Meadows of Streator Special Friend Jennie Wojenarowski, who was there everyday caring for Marcella. Preceded by Parents, Husband, Five brothers, Andy, Rudy, Edward, Albert & John Gutek, Four sisters, Irma Gutek, Mamie Gutek, Margaret Sirotnak & Emily Marion. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 9:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with the Prayer Service beginning at 5:00 P.M.
