Margaret F. Simmons

CARBONDALE- Margaret F. Simmons, age 82, of Carbondale, passed away at 6:30 AM on Saturday April 1, 2006 at her residence in Carbondale. Margaret was born in Marion on November 30, 1923 to Erwin and Dora (Strohmeier) Fietsam. She married Jack E. Simmons in Marion on October 25, 1942. He survives in Carbondale. Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Marion. Survivors include- Husband- Jack E. Simmons- Carbondale, IL Son and Daughter-In-Law- Ron and Joanne Simmons- Columbus, Ohio Daughter and Son-In-Law- Becky and David Brewer- DeSoto, IL Grandson- Joseph Simmons- Columbus, Ohio Granddaughter- Alison Brewer- DeSoto, IL Brother and Sister-In-Law- Robert and Wanda Fietsam- Marion, IL Sister and Brother-In-Law- Fran and Ron Russell- Paducah, KY Several Nieces and Nephews Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Mrs.Simmons will be held at noon on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Brian Manigold officiating. Burial will follow at Norman Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Norman Cemetery. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home.
