Margaret Yano

Herrin-Margaret Yano, 97, died 8:50 A.M., Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Herrin Hospital. Margaret was born October 1, 1905 in Herrin to Nick & Carrie (Platt) Ashoff. She married Tony J. Yano on May 27, 1929. Tony died November 22, 1990. Tony was a barber in Herrin for 73 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: Daughter:: Mary Lynne Calcaterra of Herrin Son In Law: Harry Calcaterra of Herrin Grandson: Bruce Calcaterra of Chittyville Brother In Law: Charles Jones of Herrin Sister In Law: Helen Ashoff of Herrin Cousin: Wilma Hampton of Carterville Several nieces & nephews survive Several great nieces & nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, Nicky, Paul, Watson, Clyde, Floyd & Lloyd Ashoff and four sisters, Gertrude Turner, Lorene Jones, Martha Marlo and one stillborn sister. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 15th, 2003 at San Carlo Cemetery with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
