Marion-Marguerite N. Kragness, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2006 at 3:53 P.M. at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.
She was born August 30, 1916 in Marion to Alvin Thomas & Margaret Ann Maggie (Oliver) Norman. She married Thoruald Albert Tobey Kragness on February 21, 1942 in Perryville, Missouri and together they shared over 32 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1974.
Marguerite was a graduate of Southern Illinois Normal University in Carbondale. She was a member of Third Baptist Church in Marion. She was also a member of Independent Accountant Association and Fraternal Order of Foresters. She enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the pipe organ before her arthritis set her back. She also sang in the Peoria Civic Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Robert Dale Bob Kragness, Charles David Bud Kragness and Randall Ray Kragness, two brothers, Ira Norman and Oliver Happy Norman, two infant siblings and nephew Rev. James Norman.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Norman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
