Johnston City- MARIAN HOVENGA, age 74, of Johnston City, passed away at 7:55pm on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at her home.
Marian was born on August 12, 1933 in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Wildeboar) Hinders. She married Harm Hovenga in Clarksville, Iowa on December 6, 1950. Together, they shared fifty-seven years of marriage.
Mrs. Hovenga was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church in Herrin. She was a homemaker.

Son- Stanley and Tamara Hovenga of Carterville, IL
Daughter-In-Law- Lynola Hovenga of Herrin, IL

Tracy and David Galloway of Herrin, IL
Christopher Hovenga of Herrin, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son- John Hovenga, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Duane Faulkenberry and Rev. Randy Grace officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
