Marianne Lundeen

HERRIN- Marianne (Markus) Lundeen, age 90, of Herrin, passed away peacefully at 11:40pm on Tuesday January 10, 2006 at Friendship Care Center in Herrin. Marianne was born on March 24, 1915 in Westville, IL to Anna (McCloskey) and Charles Markus, Sr. She married Harold E. Lundeen at Aurora, CO on June 25, 1960. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1963. Mrs. Lundeen was a member of the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton. Survivors include- Sister and brother-in-law- Julia A. and James C. Davis of Herrin, IL 3 nieces- Tina (and Jim) Simpson- Herrin, IL Cheryl (and Ron) Kiehna- Chatham, IL Linda (and Mike) Baker- Nevada Great nieces and nephews- Jamie Stratton- Herrin, IL Mia (and Mark) Fandell- Chatham, IL Lesleigh (and Christopher) Bennett- Lincoln, IL Mariessa Simpson- Herrin, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Harold, one brother-Charles Markus, and one sister- Sylvia Phend. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday January 14, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Father George Gulin officiating. Burial will follow at the St Marys Orthodox Cemetery east of Royalton. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday January 13, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. A Requiem Parastas prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
