Marie A. Garavalia

Carterville-Marie A. Garavalia, 77, died 12:34 P.M., Saturday, April 27, 2002 at Herrin Hospital. Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at Herrin City Cemetery with Sister Naomi Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Family of Marie A. Garavalia and will be accepted at the funeral home. Marie was born July 12, 1924 in Herrin to Edward & Jesse (Hawke) Williams. She married John P. Garavalia in 1942 at Herrin, Illinois. He died in June of 1992. Marie was a homemaker. She enjoyed animals, especially cats. She loved to care for her family and had a wonderful sense of humor. Survivors Include: Son & Daughter In Law: Pete & Billie Garavalia of Marion, IL. Daughter & Son In Law: Sandy & Charles Colp of Desoto, IL. Two Grandsons: Jonathan M. Colp of Desoto, IL. Charles S. Colp of Cambria, IL. Daughter In Law: Annuvon Garavalia of Carterville, IL. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, John E. Garavalia, one daughter, Sharon Bennett and one grandchild, Alan Garavalia.
