Herrin- VIOLET MARIE DRIEMEYER, age 92, of Herrin, passed away at 8:30pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Marie was born in Williamson County on October 20, 1917, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle (Woolsey) Loftus. She married Evans Red Driemeyer on December 19, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1976. Mrs. Driemeyer was a member of the Park Avenue Church of God in Herrin. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters- Linda and George Payne of Herrin, IL Leah and Fred Schuttek of Pittsburg, IL Seven Grandchildren- Georgia Jeralds and Keith of Herrin, IL Lori Brewer and Marc of Louisville, KY Tracy Murray and Jeff of Bush, IL Jamie Schuttek of Herrin, IL Shelly Pinion and David of Decatur, AL Leslie Mason of Herrin, IL Danny Driemeyer II and Julie of Herrin, IL Eleven Great Grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews Daughter-in-law- Mildred Taylor and Paul of Herrin, IL Pauls children and grandchildren Close Friend- Wanda Clark of Herrin, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Danny Driemeyer, 4 brothers, and one sister. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home for all their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. J.K. Tiffen officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Shawnee Christian Nursing Center or Hospice of Southern Illinois- Blue Team. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
