Marie E. Kuhnke

Herrin- MARIE EVELYN KUHNKE, age 90, of Herrin, passed away at 5:05am on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Marie was born in West Frankfort on January 18, 1921, the daughter of Edward and Eva (Terrent) Mitchell. She married Ernest Kuhnke on August 31, 1940 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1990. Mrs. Kuhnke was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter- Donna Michel of Herrin, IL Son-In-Law- James Lukesh of Marion, IL Five Grandchildren- Marcy Lukesh of Marion, IL Lois Angone of Johnston City, IL James R. and Dee Lukesh of Goreville, IL Randal and Nancy McClure of St Louis, MO Billy Kuhnke and Carolyn Hewlett of Herrin, IL Numerous Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Ernest, her daughter- JoAnn Lukesh, her son- Ernest Edward Kuhnke, her son-in-law- Bill Michel and many other family members and friends that went on before her. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Miners Cemetery in Royalton. Visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the family.
