Marion Marie Jo Jones, 93, of Ballwin, Missouri formerly of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 9:45 A.M. at Bethesda Meadow Nursing Home.
Marie was born July 11, 1912 in Lake County, Indiana and grew up in Gary, Indiana with her parents Walter and Julia (Dryl) Palasz. She met Robert David Jones when they were both working in Gary, Indiana, they were married in Crown Point, Indiana on December 3, 1930, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1982.
Marie and Robert lived in Chicago, Illinois for a year and then moved to rural Williamson County for five years. They built a home in Marion where they resided for the remainder of their married life. After Marie lost her vision she moved to Ballwin, Missouri to live with her daughter Jerri for 5 years. Marie enjoyed traveling with her husband and loved being a homemaker. She kept an organized household, loved entertaining, enjoyed sewing and loved her church. Marie enjoyed fishing trips with her husband both camping trips and at their cabin on the river. Marie loved to read articles on health research and loved sharing her findings about health, vitamins, home decorating and Bible study when she could see. She had a gift for making a house a home. Maries home always had healthy materials that encouraged character development. She missed her home in Marion very much.

A celebration of Maries life will be held Sunday, October 15, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. as part of the morning worship service at Warder Street Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Burge officiating. Burial was held in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion handled the arrangements.
