Marie Mason

Herrin- MARIE MASON, age 89, of Herrin, passed away at 12:00pm on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. Marie was born in Herrin on November 4, 1920, the daughter of Leo and Guss (Berry) Yancey. She married William Mason in Kentucky in 1938. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1970. Mrs. Mason was a member of the First Christian Church in Herrin and the Win-Wun Sunday School Class. She was a pharmacy technician for Herrin Hospital, where she retired after twenty years. Survivors include her son- Roger and Kathy Mason of Energy, IL Three grandchildren- David and Gretchen Mason of Herrin, IL Alicia and Caleb Chapman of Marion, IL Krista and Tony King of Herrin, IL Two great grandchildren- Mason King of Herrin, IL Brylee Chapman of Marion, IL Brother- Richard and Wanda Yancey of Crown Pointe, IN Sister-In-Law- Beverly Yancey of Marion, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Bill Mason, grandson- Billy Scott Mason and brother- Ron Yancey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ron Henwood officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
