Marilouise Woods

Marion- Marilouise Woods, age 91, of Marion, passed away at 3:15am on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Marilouise was born in Marion on March 8, 1924, the daughter of William and Juanita (Zuko) Dralle.  She married Milo Gingrich, Jr.  He preceded her in death in June of 1967.  She later married Merle Christopher Woods in New Orleans on April 15, 1981. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2009. Mrs. Woods was of Methodist faith and had previously attended the Marion First United Methodist Church until her health no longer allowed. She had worked  as the dietary records keeper at the Marion VA for thirty years, retiring at the age of 83. Marilouise was a loving, hardworking and dignified lady.  She provided a good home and was a wonderful role model for her three children, who have all become successful adults and parents. Thank you Mom.  We miss you and will forever love you. Survivors include her son- Michael and Vickie Gingrich of Tunnel Hill Daughter- Sharon Louise and James McKinney of Benton Daughter- Mary Jane Cagle of Salem, Oregon Step-Daughter- Deborah and Kem Standish of California, MD Step-Daughter- Christine Moore of California, MD Grandchildren- Aaron, Eli, and Ira Gingrich Tyler and Travis Cromwell Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Benjamin, Abram, Havilah, and Noah Cagle Great Grandchildren- Jacob and Milo Gingrich Alex and Kylie Cromwell Step-Grandchildren- Lauren Elliott, Todd Standish, Amanda and Jennaca Rodgers She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, granddaughter- Carrie Cromwell, and brother- William Dralle. The family will gather on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1 PM at Reynoldsburg Cemetery in Tunnel Hill to  celebrate her life. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
