Marilyn Josephine Walker

Herrin- Marilyn Josephine Walker, age 83, of Herrin, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Saint Louis. Marilyn was born in Herrin on August 5, 1932, the daughter of Guido and Mary (Rancillio) Bione. She married Carl B. “Red” Walker in Herrin on September 13, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2011. Mrs. Walker was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Before her retirement, Marilyn worked as a book keeper for Zwick’s in Herrin. Survivors include- 2 sons- Scot and Leigh Walker of Wildwood, MO      Mike Walker of Ellisville, MO One Grandson- Alex Walker of Wildwood, MO Sister-in-Law- Jane Walker of Herrin, IL Two Nephews- Greg Walker of Minneapolis, MN      Mark Garavaglia of Anna, IL Niece- Pam and Mike Eads of Indianapolis, IN Two great nieces- Amanda and Chris Becker of Indianapolis, IN      Gina Walker of Minneapolis, MN Two Great Great Nieces- Makayla Walker of Minneapolis, MN and Hope Becker of Indianapolis, IN                                                          Great Great Nephew- Brady Becker of Indianapolis, IN  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Carl Walker, brother-in-law- Russell Walker, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law- Pat and Bill Garavaglia. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. A time of visitation will be held from 10-11am on Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.  Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Education Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the services or Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
