Marion Ramsey

Carterville- MARION RAMSEY, age 90, of Carterville, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Marion was born in Herrin on March 27, 1921, the son of Marion Monroe and Minnie (Shaffer) Ramsey. He married Delores J. Swinford in Piggott, Arkansas on November 1, 1952. She survives. Mr. Ramsey was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife- Delores J. Ramsey of Carterville Two sons- Donald Ramsey of Carterville Roger and Lisa Ramsey of Carterville Daughter- Vicky Reynolds of Herrin Seven Grandchildren One great grandchild Two brothers- Walter and Juanita Ramsey of Herrin Carroll and Sue Ramsey of Paducah, KY Sister- Teresa McDonald of Florida Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother- Herbert Ramsey. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
