Johnston City- MARJORIE MARIE EDWARDS, 75, of Johnston City, passed away at 2:35am on Tuesday April 19, 2005 at her daughters home in Johnston City. Marjorie was born on April 16, 1930 in Tunnel Hill, IL to Robert and Cliffie Belle (Moore) Woodworth. She married William Chester Edwards on September 21, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1973. Mrs. Edwards was a Norge retiree, having worked on the dryer line. Survivors include- 2 daughters- Anita and Clifton Dalton- Johnston City, IL Brinda and Richard Smith-Batesville, Ark 5 grandchildren- Danny Dalton- Nashville, TN Keith and Tina Dalton- Marion, IL Shannon and Bobby Anderson- Batesville, Ark Ashley Smith- Batesville, Ark Bobby Hamilton- Herrin, IL 3 great grandchildren- Trevor Anderson- Batesville, Ark Chelsea Dalton- Marion, IL Hunter Anderson- Batesville, Ark 3 brothers- Robert and Ruth Woodworth- Carrier Mills, IL Richard and Ann Woodworth- Tunnel Hill, IL Joe Woodworth- Aurora, IL 4 sisters- Mary Turner- Tunnel Hill, IL Della Struthers- Caseyville, IL Ruby Corzine- Caseyville, IL Dorothy Lowery- Caseyville, IL Several Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death by- parents and her husband 1 daughter- Faye Hamilton 3 brothers- Raymond, Lee and Ben Woodworth 1 sister- Helen Bettis Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday April 23, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Frankie Sturrick and Rev Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held on Friday April 22, 2005 from 6-9pm at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
