Mark Arnold

d. January 24, 2009

Marion Mark Stephen Arnold, 42, son of Barry and Judy Arnold and beloved brother of Sally Ann and Joe Pearce, passed away at 2:15 A.M. on Saturday, January 24th in the Joyce Goldenburg Covenant Hospice House in Pensacola, Florida, following his battle with cancer under the benevolent and loving care of the doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Marks journey began on May 28, 1966, when he was born in the Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois. He was a bright, loving, happy child with many, many friends and happy experiences. He attended school in Marion and was touched by his many enduring friendships. He was always willing to help others, sometimes sacrificing the little he had to benefit those around him. Marks travels led him to many places, various jobs, friends, and experiences. His family was able to gain insight into the mission his life had become as he focused on the needs of others, always giving a helping hand, always protecting, and always knowing God was on his side. At the end of his life he was graciously carried to Sacred Heart Hospital where he received the very best of care. His family was able to be with him during his final week and he was so happy and secure in their presence. His last hours were spent in the Covenant Hospice House where he was attended by loving, godly people. His family was at his side as he completed his time here on earth and was united with his Father in Heaven. Mark is survived by his Parents, Sister and Brother-in-law, Uncles; Tom Hudgens, Terry and Jo Arnold and Family, Nathan and Jan Arnold and Family, and Aunt Barbara Woolard. He was preceeded in death by his Grandparents, Sam and Helen Hudgens, and J.B. and Vaudine Arnold, Uncles, Jay Arnold and Jim Woolard, and Cousin, Kevin Arnold. Funeral services will be held at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tim Ozment and Rev. Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Joyce Goldenburg Covenant Hospice House. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
