Creal Springs- Martha Lou Mart Edds-Davis, 69, of Creal Springs, passed away at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 2, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Mart was born on August 12, 1940 in Stonefort to Arley Ray & Edna Marie (Teal) Buckner. She married Bradley L. Davis and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1991. Mart worked at Wal-Mart in Marion for several years and then next at Buds, but she retired after working many years at the Wal-Mart in Harrisburg in several different departments. She enjoyed travelling with her companion, Tom, especially to Pigeon Forge, spending time with her dogs; Skittles and Tobey, going to auctions and yard sales and tending to her flowers and gardening. She was a confidant to her friends and family and enjoyed making those she loved happy. Survivors include- Companion- Tom Martinez of Creal Springs Daughter- Teresa Suits of Harrisburg Son- David Edds and wife Jerri of Creal Springs Grandchild- Derek Morris of Creal Springs Grandchild- Andrew Andy Edds of Creal Springs Step daughter- Susan Pierce of Crab Orchard Step son- Tommy Martinez of Vienna Step daughter- Tabitha Colson of Pittsburg Step son- Steve Martinez of Marion Sister- Arlena Yandell & husband Raymond of Creal Springs Niece- Marsha Yandell of Creal Springs Nephew- Jeff Yandell of Creal Springs She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother- Russell Stretch. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Shorty Alsip will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Williamson County (No Kill) Humane Society and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home/ 800 N. Market St/ Marion, IL 62959.
