Bush- Marvin Bruce Holland, 83, of Bush, passed away at 2:45 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.
Marvin was born on May 5, 1924 in Louisville, KY to Henry & Jenny (Harris) Holland. He married Pauline Deason on August 24, 1942 in Elkto, KY. She preceded him in death on July 18, 1998.
He retired after working many years in maintenance at Turco in DuQuoin. They manufactured lawn chairs and swing sets. Prior to that, he worked as a coal miner and a truck driver. He was a skilled mechanic.
He was baptized by Sister Naomi Carter at Crossroads Tabernacle in Hurst. He was a kind man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, working on cars, shooting pool and visiting friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three children- Betty Lazorchak, Wendy George & Timmie Holland, four grandchildren- Shaun Ross, Eric George, Dr. Lisa Norris & Blake Holland and one great grandchild- Dylan Peters.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Sister Linda Kyzar will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, March 24, 2008 at the funeral home.
