MARY ANGELINE PARKS, age 92, of Marion, passed away at 11:05am on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Mary was born on February 11, 1916 in Marion, the daughter of Dennis Douglas and Mary Jane (Fisher) Stephens. She married Milo Hugh Parks on March 23, 1946 in Marion at the home of the Rev. Arthur Travelstead. They shared forty-six years of marriage until his death on September 22, 1992.
Mrs. Parks was a devoted mother who was very content living the life of a farmers wife. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a very important and special part of her life. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. Mary was an avid reader and always appreciated the help she received from Lola Morris and the Crab Orchard Library in finding her books with large print.
Mary was a member of the Arnold View Free Will Baptist Church where she was also a charter member of the ladies auxiliary.

Two Great Grandchildren- Sarah and Joshua Jean of Marion, IL
Sister-In-Law- Vera Stephens of Marion, IL
Two brothers-in-law- Tilden Parks of Marion, IL
Julian Bill White of Marion, IL
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband- Milo; four brothers- Dennis, Jacob, Elmer, and Carl Stephens; two sisters- Flo Phillips and Gladys Alexander; and one infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan and Rev. Jason Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the funeral home.
