Mary Alberta Hill

Marion Mary Alberta Hill, 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 10:51 A.M. at Fountains Nursing Care Facility. Mary was born August 19, 1915 to Oscar & Emma (Reese) Hanks in Marion. She married Orville A. Hill on January 9, 1932 in Marion, and together they shared over 57 years of marriage until his death on April 1, 1989. Mary was a homemaker, having also worked at Sangamo Electric. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. Survivors include: Two Daughters; Roberta Simmons and husband Theron, Jr. of Oswego, IL Kathern Gulley and husband James of Marion Mary raised her niece Sue Rushing of Marion and her nephew Lavern Hill of Marion as two of her own children Eight Grandchildren; Alan Gulley of Dextor, MO Tammie Wolf of Marion Scott Simmons of Oswego, IL Sandra Sweeny of Iowa Mike Hill of Marion Michelle Johnson of Marion Melanie Smith of Marion Mary Kay Evetts of Marion Eight Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild Two Sisters; Sophia Faulkner of Mascoutah, IL Loudene Dial of Marion Several Nieces & Nephews Preceded by: Parents, Husband-Orville, Son-Orville Eugene Hill, Brothers- Bill, Louie and Ernest Hanks, Sister-Mae Edwards. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Charles Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Hanks Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
