Mary Ann Reis

Herrin- Mary Ann Reis, 78, of Herrin, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:25 AM, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Herrin Hospital. Mary Ann was born on January 18, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Raymond Bernard and Claudia May (Austerschmidt) Wolk.  She married Donald William Reis, Sr. on August 13, 1955 in St. Louis, MO.  He survives of Herrin. She was a loving and supportive homemaker who adored her children and grandchildren.  She had a quick wit and a keen sense of humor and enjoyed telling corny jokes. She was a strong, faithful and Godly woman who was active in her church.  Mary Ann was a member of Life Church in Marion and she loved reading her Bible and volunteering her time every year at the Herrin Mayor’s Thanksgiving Banquet. Survivors include- Husband – Donald W. Reis, Sr. of Herrin Daughter- Janice Marie Reis Hindman and husband Ernie of Herrin Son- Donald W. Reis, Jr. of Herrin Son- David Reis and wife Suzie of Herrin Son- Michael Joseph Reis and wife Jean of Hawaii Twelve Grandchildren Twelve Great Grandchildren plus one on the way Sister- Lorraine Schnettgoecke of St. Louis Several nieces, nephews and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers- Raymond D., Norman B., and David A. Wolk. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Johnson- Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Pastor John Parton will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until time of service, Sunday, at the funeral home.  Private burial services will be held at Herrin City Cemetery.
