Mary Catherine Reynolds

Carbondale- Mary Catherine Reynolds, 61, of Carbondale, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home.

Mary Catherine was born on April 7, 1958 to Bobby Ray and Jaqueline (Walker) Reynolds.  She married Rebecca J. Gordon on August 15, 2011 at the Jackson County Courthouse in Murphysboro.

She was retired as a rehab specialist case manager at the Center for Independent Living in Carbondale.

Mary Catherine Reynolds was catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin.  In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, paranormal investigation and volunteering her time with; “This Able Veteran” and “The American Cancer Society”.  She was gifted artistically and enjoyed jewelry making, drawing, painting, illustrating and writing books.  She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include-

Loving wife- Rebecca Gordon of Carbondale

Parents- Butch and Jackie McNew of Herrin

Sister- Judy Reynolds of Herrin

Brother- Chris Reynolds of Carbondale

Several aunts and uncles and many cousins

Beloved fur babies- “Slinky” and Bilbo”

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother- Joseph Reynolds.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin.  Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate.  Inurnment will follow.  Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the graveside.  Memorial arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
