Mary E. McNary

Mary Estella McNary, formerly of Marion, age 98, passed away at Laurenwood Nursing Home in Duncanville, TX. Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at 12:30 A.M. Funeral services will be held at Mitchell-Hughes funeral home in Marion Friday, June 14, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Gary Rothenberger officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning beginning at 11:00 A.M. till time of service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mary was born on March 29, 1904 in Olathe, Kansas to August and Ida (Burlingame) Motzkus. She married Gladden McNary on July 7, 1927 in Burlington, Kansas, He passed away on August 18, 1990. Mary was a Homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marion. She was a member of the Marion Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, World War 1 Veterans Auxiliary, and the Gideon International Auxiliary. Survivors Include four sons and daughter in laws: Wallace and Evelyn McNary of Durham, SC, Virtus and Marilyn McNary of Oswego, IL, James and Carol McNary of Bella Vista, AR, and Glenn and Janice McNary of Stafford, TX, A daughter and son in law, Mary Ellen and Lavon Wells of Dallas, TX, Ten grandchildren; Brian McNary of Aurora, IL, Karen Mang of Oswego, IL, Randy McNary of Albuquerque, NM, Jill Nuppenau of Lombard, IL, Gayle McNary of Marion, IL, Valerie McNary of Augusta, GA, Stephen McNary of Miami, Fl, Craig McNary of Durham, NC, Amy Henry of Houston, TX, and Bradley McNary of Houston, TX, and 4 great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, six brothers and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to Gideon International or to the First United Methodist Church of Marion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
