Herrin- Mary Elizabeth Walker, 88, of Herrin, passed away at 2:15 AM, Thursday, May 2, 2007 at Herrin Hospital. Mary was born on January 10, 1919 in Herrin to Albert John & Mary (Steinle) Will. She married Jack A. Walker on February 10, 1937 in Herrin. He survives in Herrin. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Survivors include: Husband- Jack A. Walker of Herrin Daughter & son in law- Jacqueline & James McNew of Herrin Son & daughter in law- I.W. Bill & Linda Bione-Walker of Cherryville, NC Daughter & son in law- Judy & Gary Brandon of Herrin Nine Grandchildren: Mary Catherine Reynolds of Carbondale Judy Reynolds of Herrin Christopher Reynolds of Herrin Tammy Wallace & husband William of Cherryville, NC Scott Walker & wife Alisha of Marion, VA Doug Brandon & wife Tara of Herrin Mark Walker & wife Julie of Carlyle Susan Heseman & husband Pat of Nashville, IL Jennifer Pelker & husband Jim of Tamaroa Eleven Great Grandchildren- Jennifer, Anthony, Libby, Matthew, Jenna, Haeli, Emily, Olivia, Quentin, Hannah & Abbie Brother- Martin Will of Herrin Sister- Bede Sadler of Salina, KS Daughter in law- Judy Walker (Coultas) & husband Joe of Woodlawn Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, one son; Rodger Walker, grandchildren; Joe Reynolds & Anthony Walker, sisters; Jeannetta Gualdoni & Christine Griffin, three brothers; John Albert Will, Monsignor Irvin Will & Robert Will. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 Am until time of service, Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Renovation Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
