Mary Ella (Stout) Owen

Mary Ella (Stout) Owen, age 65, died Sunday, April 1st at 11:30 P.M. at her home. Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 4th at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Ford & Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant (Poordo) Cemetery. Visitation was from 5-9 P.M. Tuesday, April 3rd at the funeral home. Mrs. Owen was born July 14, 1936 in Rosiclare, Illinois to Byron C. and Bertha Kaylor. She married Bob Stout in Harrisburg, IL, in 1956. He preceded her in death in 1983. She then married George Owen in Saline County, Illinois on February 2, 1985. He survives in Crab Orchard, Illinois. She is also survived by: Son, Robbie (& Tena) Stout of Thompsonville, IL Son, James Keith (& Susan) Owen of New Athens, IL Daughter, Gwenda (& Blaine) Duty of Raymond, IL Nine grandchildren Two great-grandchildren Brother, Harvey Kaylor of Altus, OK Brother, Garvin Slim McDonald of Phoenix, AZ She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathryn Elizabeth Kaylor Mrs. Owen loved her grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling with her husband George. She enjoyed basketball, especially the NBA (the Bulls and the L.A. Lakers). She had worked twenty-one years for Harrisburg Manufacturing Company. She retired from Delta Coal Mines after working as an Oiler, a Sample Person, and was working as a Loader at her retirement. Mrs. Owen was a member of Local 99H U.N.I.T.E., and the U.M.W.A. She was a member of Third Baptist Church in Marion.
