Mary Eveline Griffiths

Mary Eveline Walker Griffiths, 88,of 1105 S. Webster, Harrisburg, formally of Marion, died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 10:55 A.M. at Parkway Manor in Marion. Mary was born to Silas and Irma Walker on September 06, 1915 in Union County, Illinois. She married Paul Griffiths on February 08, 1947 and together they have enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Mary worked at Good Luck Glove Factory, American Pants Factory in Carbondale, Cap Factory as a bookkeeper and various other retail stores in Marion and Harrisburg. She and Paul moved to Marion from Harrisburg in 1955 and returned to Harrisburg in 1999. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Marion and attended McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg upon their return. Survivors include Husband Paul Griffiths of Harrisburg Daughter Paulette Simpson and husband Bimp Two (2) Granddaughters: Verlinda Henshaw and husband Brad Tiffany Kielhorn and husband Dustin Four (4) Great Grandchildren: Brennan Bimp Street Skylar Elaine Street Walker Drake Kielhorn Whitney Henshaw - All of Harrisburg Preceded by Parents, Daughter Verlinda Jones, an infant son David Andrew Griffiths, Three (3) Brothers, Two (2) Sisters Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the building funds at Second Baptist Church in Marion or McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
