Mary Felts

Marion- Mary Felts, age 92, of Marion, passed away at 2:53pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at her home in Marion. Mary was born in Marion on December 5, 1925, the daughter of Walter and Lola (Jones) Sanders. She married Melvin Felts on April 25, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2001. Mrs. Felts was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion. Survivors include her daughter- Sherry and Greg Starrick of Marion Son- Jerry and Julie Felts of Marion Daughter- Marsha and Joe Holderfield of Marion Six Grandchildren- Monica and Troy Zukas of Marion Ryan and Sara Starrick of Mahomet Casey and Krissy Holderfield of Lake St. Louis, MO Felicia and Dave Anvick of Bloomington Dylan and Megan Holderfield of Marion Marionna and Jason Ping of Carterville Eight Great Grandchildren Brother-in-law- Floyd and Inge Felts of Georgia Nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Larry Joe Felts, two sisters- Mabel Berger and Dorothy Norman, and three brothers- Lee, Ralph, and Edgar Sanders. As per her wishes, funeral services to celebrate her life, will be private. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary’s caregivers. The care and compassion shown during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.
