Freeman Spur- Mary Jo Milazzo, 61, of Freeman Spur, passed away at her home at 9:30 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008.
Mary Jo was born on December 15, 1946 in Stonepipe, MN to Leo & Daisy (Richardson) Melander. She married Sam Milazzo on July 23, 2001 in Marion. He survives of Freeman Spur.
Mrs. Milazzo formerly worked as a waitress at Burger Nook in Herrin and Western Sizzlin in Marion, but more recently worked as a cashier and pharmacy assistant at Herrin Wal-Mart. She also formerly served at the Village Clerk of Freeman Spur.
She was a protestant and enjoyed fishing, camping, going for walks, laughing and having a good time. She will be sadly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Husband- Sam Milazzo of Freeman Spur
Son & daughter in law- Don & Jean Layne of Bryan, TX
Granddaughter- Elizabeth Layne of Bryan, TX
Brothers- Bill, Bob, Mike & Gary Melander
Sisters- Sandy Williams & Patty Ogden
Several nieces and nephews
Mother in law- Christine Mutchek & husband Jack of Freeman Spur
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son- Randy Layne.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Harold & Vada McClure will officiate. A time of visitation will be from 6:00 PM until time of service, Thursday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The family suggests casual attire please.
