Herrin- MARY LOUISE HARGET, age 77, of Herrin, passed away at 10:40am on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the home of her son and granddaughter. Mary was born in Carbondale on December 12, 1929, the daughter of Arlie and Gladys (Brown) Smith. She married Benjamin F. Harget, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1982. Mrs. Harget loved antiques and was an avid collector. Her greatest joy was to find that one piece to complete a collection, or a doll that she didnt have. She loved watching baseball and wrestling and listening to country music. She leaves behind her children: Mary and Floyd Smith of Herrin, IL Kay and Raymond Wagley of Ferges, IL Faye and Jim Kimmel of Murphysboro, IL Leah and Jim Covey, Jr of Marion, IL Phyllis and Tom Antonini of Henderson, KY Bennie Harget of Ferges, IL Grandchildren- Barbara and Scott Wright of Carterville, IL Richard Smith of St. Louis, MO Staff Sergeant James and Dana Kimmel of Murphysboro, IL Lily Covey of Marion, IL Lisa and Brett Basler of Ferges, IL (her loving caregiver) Great Grandchildren- Graci and Courtney Kimmel of Murphysboro, IL Brother- David and Mary Lynn Smith of Carterville, IL Her loving dogs- Lucy and Bubbles Her granddaughters dogs that she thought the world of- Muffin, Tippy, and Jackie Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben F. Harget Jr.; brother and sister-in-law- Harold and Sue Smith; brother- Alan Smith; and a sister and brother-in-law- Elizabeth and Bill Ross. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-1:00pm on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the funeral home. The family would like to send an extended appreciation to Hospice volunteer Linda Duncan of Marion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
