HERRIN- Mary L. Treece, age 79, of Herrin, passed away at 4:10pm on Tuesday December 13, 2005 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Mary was born in Herrin on January 26, 1926 to Homer and Rena (Hilton) Tubbs. She married Ernest M. Treece on July 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1982. Mrs. Treece was a member of the Christian Covenant Fellowship Church in Carterville. She was a homemaker. Survivors include- 3 daughters- Marsha and Jim Hester- Petersburg, VA Vicki and Bob Dawson- Herrin, IL Mary Beth and Scott Hill- Herrin, IL Son- Pastor Val and Sherry Treece- Jackson, TN 8 Grandchildren- Ray and Crystal Hester- Petersburg, VA Sara Hester- Petersburg, VA Heather and David Morrow- Jackson, TN Haley and Pastor Jereme Smith- Jackson, TN Shawn and Kristi Dawson- Sullivan, IL Scott and Jennifer Dawson- Herrin, IL Damon and Chreisha Hill- Herrin, IL Jonathon Hill- Jackson, TN 12 Great Grandchildren- Kristen, Brenden, Benjamin, McKenzie, Megan, Maitlyn, Ramona Star, Mallory, Brandon, Nathan, Caden, Blake and Baby Smith due June 23rd 3 sisters- Irene DeCoursey, Josie Serena, and Lela Cornett Several nieces and nephews A wonderful extended family who have been graced with her life She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services for Mary will be held at 11:00am on Saturday December 17, 2005 at the Christian Covenant Fellowship Church in Carterville with the Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday December 16, 2005 at the Christian Covenant Fellowship Church in Carterville. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Dream Center of Jackson, TN and will be accepted at the church or the funeral home.
