Herrin- Mary M. Restivo, age 93, of Herrin, passed away at 2:30pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at her home in Herrin.
Mary was born in West Frankfort on December 23, 1920, the daughter of J.H.C. and Myrtle (Dunaway) Davis. She married Angelo Michael Restivo in Charleston, Missouri on June 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1997.
Mrs. Restivo was a member of the HerrinFirstBaptistChurch where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She had also sung as a soloist at DauphneWayBaptistChurch in Mobile, Alabama and the FirstBaptistChurch in Greenville, South Carolina. Mary was a former member of the Herrin Women’s Club- Music Department, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Frankling County Clountry Club, and the Egyptian Choral Club.
Mary owned and operated Kohlsdorf’s Quality Corner clothing store from 1967-2006. She spent her life as a homemaker. She loved spending time on the lake fishing, with her husband, Angelo. Mary will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Two granddaughters- Kerrie (Hale) and David Daugherty of Herrin
Kristy (Hale) Vernum of St. Louis
Three great grandchildren- Jared and Jordan Daugherty of Herrin
Chase Vernum of St. Louis
Two nephews- Larry and Tammy Davis of West Frankfort
Steve and Linda Davis of Minneapolis, MN
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Jody Lynn (Restivo) Hale, son-in-law- Michael Hale, brother- Robert L. Davis, and sister-in-law- Harriet Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Mark Hutson officiating. Burial will follow at HerrinCityCemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
