Herrin- Mary T. Pisoni, 97, of Herrin died at 4:20 PM, Sunday, December 5, 2004 at her home with her family at her side.
Mary was born on September 22, 1967 in Herrin to Emil & Caroline (Carneghi) Pessina. She married Tony C. Pisoni on April 18, 1927 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Herrin. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2003.
Mrs. Pisoni worked at Herrins Builders Supply many years before retiring to become a full time mother and to support her husband as they founded Pisoni Real Estate & Insurance.
She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and served on the Ladies Aid Society for many years. They made quilts, which were sold for those in need, and cooked bereavement dinners for church members. She was an avid bridge player and a great friend to all. Mary never drove; she always had Tony or one of the boys, so it was never a priority. She was a classy lady who always wore her high heels. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
