Mathias Raphael Braun, 22 months old, of Carbondale, died at 3:15pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at his home of congestive heart failure.
Mathias was born June 14, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, IL, a son of Jason Alan Braun and Kira Jean (Jack) Braun.
Mathias was a special needs child with many challenges, but managed to be very happy through it all. Mathias had a content disposition. He was very aware of his surroundings, laughed easily and often, smiled big smiles, and loved people. He was easy to please, quirky and delightful. Through each physical pain, sickness and hurdle he encountered, God was there in every way to guide Jason and Kira on Mathiass care to bring him comfort again and a good quality of life. Mathias managed to accomplish things that many doctors had said would never happen for him. We are very grateful for the time we had with him to get to know his personality, to experience personally the trustworthiness and miracles of God, and to have the opportunity to watch the Lord come to his rescue over and over.
