Herrin- MATTHEW ANTHONY OLIVAS-WILSON, age 23, of Herrin, passed away at 1:29PM on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Herrin Hospital. Matthew was born on March 11, 1985, the son of Christina Wilson and Arthur R. Olivas. He attended the Christian Life Center. Matthew loved the outdoors, motorcycles, four-wheelers, collecting knives and anything to do with music. He was previously employed by Southside Lumber in Herrin. Cosio and Isabel of Mexicali, Mexico Grandma- Jane Jones of Herrin, IL Grandparents- Lupe and Jessie Olivas of Brawley, CA Special Family Friend- Marcos Munoz of Southern Illinois Six Tias (aunts)- Rosemary and Joseph Doss of Marion, IL Janina Miller of Brawley, CA Jackie and Kevin Harrison of Herrin, IL Alison and Kyle Grant of Johnston City, IL Marie Cosio and Alesandra Cosio of Mexicali, Mexico Two Tios (uncles)- Philip JR Cosio of Herrin, IL Jason and Norma Cosio of Brawley, CA Mother and Father-In-Law- Tim and Leanne Johnson of Herrin, IL Brother-in-Law- Derrick and Kim Johnson of West Frankfort, IL Nieces- Izabel, Cisco, and Angelo Cosio of Henderson, Nevada Niece- Taylor Alyse Johnson of West Frankfort, IL Cousins- Jovan Miller, Elizabeth (Liz) McNeill and Jason Miller, Kevin Miller, Samantha Miller, Ashlee Cosio, Jason (JJ) Cosio, Bryce Cosio, Ravin Harrison, Jacob Cosio, and Renae Cosio Great Cousins- Lil Jovan and Jobe Beloved Dog- Pancho Matthew was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents- Arnulfo and Maria Mora, his great grandmother- Maria E. Cosio, and a cousin- Aaron Romero. Matthew will be greatly missed by his family and many friends from Southern Illinois all the way to the West Coast. A "Going Away Party" to celebrate Matthew's life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Joseph Doss will officiate services. A time of gathering will be held from 11:00am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to continue the remembrance and fellowship time at the Herrin City Park immediately following services at the funeral home.
