Bush- Mattie M. Murray, 97, of Bush, passed away at, 10:50 AM, Friday, November 10, 2006 at her home. Mattie was born on August 8, 1909 in Hurst to John & Liza (Shaw) Harper. She married Thomas Murray on August 14, 1926 in DeSoto. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1953. She was an active member and former Sunday school teacher at Crossroads Tabernacle in Hurst. She enjoyed growing red roses, entertaining company and spending time with friends and family. Mattie will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother who had a love for life, her family and the Lord, who she remained faithfully devoted to throughout all her life. SURVIVORS: Son & daughter in law- John & Barbara Murray- Chicago Daughter- Helen Lantrip- Cambria Daughter- Barbara Murray- Bush Seventeen Grandchildren: Gary Parini- Bush Donna Wilson- Bush John Parini- Springfield, MO Roberta Holland- Hurst Carol Henderson- Chicago Linda Kluge- Chicago John Murray, Jr- Bush Jeff Murray- Bush Cristina Williams- Marion Millie Pinkston- Cambria MaryAnn Burns- Cambria Tammy McKay- Cambria Helen Shepard- Carterville Sherry Murray- Bush Tommy Murray- Bush Janet Murray- Herrin Connie Dixon- Herrin Twenty Seven Great Grandchildren Ten Great Great Grandchildren Many nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four children; Pauline, Robert & Tommy Murray & Ruby Parini, two sons in law; Deno Parini & Gary Lantrip, daughters in law; Roberta Murray & Janet Murray, four brothers, four grandsons, and one very close friend and neighbor, Lizzie Judd. The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Crossroads Tabernacle in Hurst. Rev. R. H. Chitwood will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Tuesday, at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Crossroads Tabernacle and envelopes will be available at the church or funeral home.
