Melba Moorman

Marion- Melba Moorman, age 85, of Marion, passed away at 2:15pm on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at her home. Melba was born in Pittsburg, IL on February 3, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Jewell (Hartwell) Adams. Melba attended the First Christian Church in Herrin. She was a volunteer at Heartland Regional Hospital for over twenty years and served as president of the auxiliary for the past several years. She retired, in 1989, from the Illinois Department of Public Aid in Marion. She is survived by her children Bill and Tari Moorman of Marion; Carol and Jim Brydon of Hunington Beach, California; and Erick and Julie Albert of Lodi, California; grandchildren Eric and Andrea Moorman of Carterville; Ariane and Scott MacNevin of Bradenton, FL; Breane Moorman of Marion; and Alex and Ali Albert of San Francisco, CA; and great granddaughters Marin and Morgan MacNevin of Bradenton, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Jillian Albert of Lodi California, and Dr. Norman Albert of Johnston City. A private graveside service will be held; there will be no visitation. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
