Melvin Blunt

Herrin- Melvin “Old Man” Blunt, 67, of Herrin, passed away peacefully at 10:11 PM, on Friday, April 21, 2017 at his home, surrounded by those who loved him dearly. Melvin was born June 23, 1949 and is survived by all of his Chestnut family and his dearest friends. Melvin was a very happy man who enjoyed his beer (root beer), candy bars, and his dollar bills. A graveside memorial service will be held at Zeigler Cemetery in Zeigler, IL on April 27, 2017 at 11:00am. Memorial arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to the Centerstone Foundation (VRS) in memory of Melvin Blunt, and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St./ Herrin, IL 62948.
