Michael G. McCluckie

Energy- Michael G. McCluckie, 77, of Energy, passed away at 2:58 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Mike was born on November 17, 1941 in Murphysboro to William and Katherine (Goddard) McCluckie.  He married Virginia Lee Bollinger on June 26, 1982 in Marion.  She preceded him in death on January 11. 

Mike was a Navy veteran who served during peacetime.  He was retired from Sears, where he worked as the sales manager for many years until his retirement.  Later he worked at Win Nelson in the kitchen and bath department and drove for area business’ when needed.

He was an active member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.  He served as the leader of the Lone Oak Laborers and was a dedicated member of Carpenter’s for Christ.  He was a hardworking, straight forward man who loved the Lord, travelling with his friends and spending time with his family.

Survivors include-

Daughter- Kristy Whitton and husband Eric of Marion, IN

Beloved granddaughter- Emma Hays of Marion, IN

Step sons:

                Rick Reynolds of West Frankfort

                Victor Reynolds of Christopher

                Steven Reynolds and wife Susan of Albuquerque, NM

Sister- Patricia England and husband Rob of Shreveport, LA

Brother- Jim McCluckie and wife Dee of Anaheim, CA

Several nieces, nephews and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, August 30, 2019 at Lone Oak Baptist Church/809 Ryan Drive/ Energy, IL   62933.  Rev. Jerry Schell will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of service, Friday at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy.  Arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
