Michael J. Decker

Energy- MICHAEL J. DECKER, age 61, of Energy, passed away at 1:05am on Friday, September 15, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Michael was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on December 17, 1944, the son of Blanche (Vanderbilt) Decker. He married Phyllis J. (Jarvis) Gulley on May 29, 1998 in Paducah, KY. She survives in Energy. Michael was employed by General Dynamics in Marion for twelve years and was previously employed by Allen Industries for seventeen years. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, one brother- David Decker, and one sister- Irene Pippin. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the special love and concern shown from his friends and co-workers. It was great greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military rites performed by the Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts.
