Energy- MICHAEL J. DECKER, age 61, of Energy, passed away at 1:05am on Friday, September 15, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Michael was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on December 17, 1944, the son of Blanche (Vanderbilt) Decker. He married Phyllis J. (Jarvis) Gulley on May 29, 1998 in Paducah, KY. She survives in Energy. Michael was employed by General Dynamics in Marion for twelve years and was previously employed by Allen Industries for seventeen years. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Gulley-Decker of Energy, IL Three Step-Daughters- Sheila Meadows- Johnston City, IL Brenda and Steven Hess of Marion, IL Dana Gulley of Herrin, IL Six Step-Grandchildren- Jeremy Hess of Johnston City, IL Michael Hess of Herrin, IL April Woodruff of Arizona Amy Grant of Johnston City, IL Dustin Gulley of Herrin, IL Christopher Perrquet of Herrin, IL Three Great Grandchildren Five Brother and Sisters-In-Law- Mr and Mrs Frank Decker of Chesapeake, VA Mr and Mrs Bob Decker of Cedar Lake, IN Mr and Mrs Paul Decker of Mt Pleasant, TX Mr and Mrs John Decker of Amarillo, TX Mr and Mrs Phil Decker of Cannon City, CO One Brother-In-Law- Mr and Mrs Bob Jarvis of Carterville, IL Two Sisters-In-Law- Pat Jarvis of Energy, IL Shirley Schaefer of Energy, IL Many friends and co-workers His cats were his four little furry friends at home that he adored. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, one brother- David Decker, and one sister- Irene Pippin. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the special love and concern shown from his friends and co-workers. It was great greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military rites performed by the Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts.
