Michael F. “Flash” Malin, 62, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Coral Springs, Florida.
Michael was born March 9, 1951 in Marion the son of Franklin Malin and Glorine (Roberts) Livingston. He married Debra Sewell on March 25, 1978 and together they shared almost 33 years of marriage until her death on March 19, 2011.
He worked his entire career for the state of Illinois and retired as a special investigator. Michael enjoyed hunting, gardening, doing anything outside and spending time with his family and friends.
Flash will always be remembered for his generous heart and unique sense of humor. He will terribly missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include his;
Son – Michael E. Malin of Bloomington
Daughter – Amanda Diamantis and husband Philip of Coral Springs, Florida
Granddaughter – Mia Diamantis
Grandson – Leo Diamantis
Sister – Lisa Harris and husband Raymond “Face” of Paducah
Nephew – Tony Smith of Jacksonville, Florida

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glorine Livingston and Franklin Malin and wife Debra Malin.
A Memorial service will he held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. The eulogy will be given by John Christ.
