Herrin- Michael P. Delaney, 69, of Herrin, passed away at 4:20 AM, Monday, July 3, 2006 at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Michael was born on January 13, 1937 in Wood River, IL to James & Florence (Paul) Delaney. He married Charlotte Jun on January 9, 1960 in Alton, IL. She survives of Herrin. Mr. Delaney was a credit supervisor for General Motors Acceptance Corp. for thirty three years prior to his retirement. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and served on the Knights of Columbus. SURVIVORS: Wife- Charlotte Delaney- Herrin Daughter & son in law- Debbie & Steve Ruppel- Carterville Daughter & son in law- Karen & David Gisy- Knoxville, TN Son & daughter in law- Jeff & Holly Delaney- Lewisport, KY Son & daughter in law- Doug & Kelly Delaney- Nashville, TN Nine Grandchildren: Greer Gisy Zack Ruppel Devon Delaney Reagan Gisy Kelly Ruppel Ally Delaney Everett Delaney Lilian Delaney Samuel Delaney Brother & sister in law- James & Jean Delaney- Homewood, IL Brother- Robert Delaney- Manchester, MO Brother- Jack Delaney- Alton, IL Several nieces & nephews He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral mass will celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
