Mike B. Bolen

Herrin- Mike Bryan Bolen, 54, of Herrin died at 11:57 AM, Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Mike was born on July 15, 1946 in Herrin to Kenneth Quincy & Helen T. (Berra) Bolen. He married Sharon Gelgut on July 31, 1965 in Herrin. She survives of Herrin. Mr. Bolen owned B-Line Sign Company of Herrin and prior he worked at Neon Sign Company of Herrin for twenty-three years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Mike enjoyed his family and friends, but his greatest joy was his wife and two grandsons. SURVIVORS: Wife- Sharon Bolen- Herrin Son & dtr in law- Scott & Kristi Bolen- Herrin Two Grandchildren: Trevor & Kiefer Bolen- Herrin Bro & sis in law- Kenneth & Edith Bolen- Herrin Bro in law & sis in law- Denny & Marilyn Gelgut- Lake of Egypt, IL Father in law- Vetey Gelgut- Herrin Two nieces: Beth Bolen- Euliss, TX Kathy & husband Ron Traughber- Euliss, TX Cousin- Connie Berra Garrison- Pasadena, CA Cousin- Marilyn Phillips- Herrin His parents preceded him in death. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2001 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2001 from 6:00-8:00PM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial Donations may be made to Cabrini Hall in Herrin or the St. Louis University Auxiliary House and will be accepted at the funeral home.
