Mildred Eleanor Chamness, age 91, of Marion, passed away at 1:36pm on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Mildred was born in Williamson County on February 14, 1922, the daughter of Bessie (Bennett) Webb and Ralph Robertson. She married Elijah L. Chamness in Paducah, Kentucky on February 19, 1938. He survives in Marion.
Mrs. Chamness was a member of the Parrish Park Christian Church in Marion. She had worked at Olin Mathison, where she helped assemble flares during the war. She later served as the head dietician at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion.
Survivors include two daughters- Yvonne and Henry Priddy of Marion

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons- Robert Elijah, Jerry Lane, and Terry Lee Chamness, great granddaughter- Brynn McKinley Chamness, two brothers- Dolph Webb, Jr. and Bobby Gene Bennett, sister- Gloria Agnes Jones, and son-in-law- Del Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Randy Allison officiating. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery in rural Marion. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
