Marion-Mildred Chaney, 86, of Marion and formerly of Carrier Mills passed away 8:10 A.M., Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Mildred was born November 12, 1917 in Harrisburg to George & Edith (Wright) Jarrell. She married Harvey Chaney on July 14, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death. She was a retired beautician. She was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion. She was active with Hearts Helping Hearts and the Bleeding Hearts. She was past worthy matron of the Eastern Star in Carrier Mills. Survivors Include: Son & Daughter In Law: Jarrell & Jayne Chaney of Elkville, IL. Six Grandchildren: Mark Chaney & wife Elizabeth of Carbondale Jennifer Harker & husband Don of Los Angeles, CA. Jeremy Chaney & wife Trena of Carbondale Kristy Bunton & husband Mike of Bement, IL. Elizabeth Yates & husband Jack of Carbondale James Dale Bunton of Decatur, IL. Seven Great Grandchildren: Carson & Amiah Chaney, Celest Harker, Autum & Madison Bunton, Jackie Yates,III & Jonathon J. Bunton Sister & Brother In Law: Beverly & Dan Storz of Bonne Terre, Mo. Brother & Sister In Law: John & Rose Spears of OFallon, MO. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Ralph, Andrew & Bill Spears, sisters Hazel King & Evelyn Vanno. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 5, 2004 at the Third Baptist Church in Marion with Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Third Baptist Church. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hearts Helping Hearts. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church the day of the service or at the funeral home.
