Mildred E. Oldani

Herrin- Mildred E. Oldani, 97, of Herrin, passed away at 9:10 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Parkway Manor in Marion. Mildred was born on February 6, 1911 in Taylor Mines, KY to Robert Lee & Dassie (Draper) Hines. She married Ercol J. Oldani on July 10, 1946 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1981. Mrs. Oldani was a longtime secretary and bookkeeper for Snyder Herrin and Bracy Insurance and Real Estate in Herrin. Mildred was a member of the Herrin Senior Citizens and AARP. She traveled often to Las Vegas with friends in Senior Citizens and loved cruises. Mildred enjoyed bowling and once rolled a 200 game. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Survivors include- Son & daughter in law- Robert F. & Paula (Absher) Oldani of Henderson, KY Granddaughter- Erica J. Oldani & fianc Michael Havenar of St. Louis, MO Sister- Virginia Allen of Herrin Nephew- Russell Allen of Herrin Niece- Vivian Hamby of Hampstead, NC Many beloved cousins, friends and neighbors She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Homes in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service Wednesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
